promotion

Didnt think i was gonna pen any more thought on this blog but... I have officially been promoted at work! Well.. to be honest, the opportunity was present years ago but due to some psychological barrier/mental struggles, i decline the opportunity to be promoted. my boss asked me if i wanted to be promoted time and time again while i decline. I could have applied for a promotion at work when i've gotten my diploma earlier. speaking of which, i didnt mention in my earlier blog post. and now, i am thinking why didnt i do that? idk, ppl who pen their thoughts down, would blog about their more important things... but idk why i didnt do that. anyway.. they year 2024 was great, like the above, i got promoted, i ran my first 10km run (Run for light 2024), i ran 2 half marathons (2XU, which i did very poorly and GARMIN run 2024). running has become more and more of a hobby of mine. I am starting to do more ploymetric workout (Jump rope), strength training (strengthening the hamstring, quads, calves) and doing my weekly maffetone runs. its becoming a bigger and bigger part of my hobby. I joined a running group (ARC) back in Jan 2023, times really flies... i mistakenly thought i joined the running club in jan 2024. nuts.. i totally forgot. I also applied for a HFE letter (for HDB application) this year and applied for a singles BTO but failed to get it, honestly didnt feel that disappointed. which means i wasnt pinning much hope on it anyway. haha. I am in my mid thirties now.. feels weird, kinda middle aged or there already. crazy to think secondary school was 19 years ago, JHT (one of my first part time job while waiting for ITE) was 17 years ago, first day of NS is 15 years ago, I completely finished my NS 2 years and 10 months ago). time flies... it feels very very weird.. i do miss those times where in sec school, i didnt have much to worry about, just show up at school, throw things at the ceiling fan, do some work etc. i miss hitting keypads when i was doing my part time work at JHT (was making parts of the Motorola Razor phone), entering the workplace without seeing the sun and exiting the workplace without seeing the sun) and i remember the first day of NS. I even had my head shaved, I work a Baleno sky blue tee, a baggy jeans along with Adidas shoes and carry a DC skateboard bag to first day of NS. feels nostalgic and weird. Life is good now, the main focus and concern are my parents, i must fully focus on them now. buying their favourite food, desserts, pastries etc.
